Fernando Moreno
Director of Media Ministry
Fernando was born and resides in Dallas. He grew up in South Oak Cliff and attended Booker T. Washington, the well-known Performing Arts High School in Downtown Dallas, where he was first introduced to the world of media. He learned graphics, video editing, and audio technology among other forms of art. Fernando was admitted to the vocal performance program where he studied opera and choral performance. He also performed with the Latin Jazz ensemble and developed his skills as an audio technician. While in this role he was able to perform in multiple venues like Disney’s Epcot Center, the Meyerson, and the national LULAC conference. Meanwhile, Fernando began to learn guitar and sing at the church he grew up in (Jesucristo es mi Refugio). Throughout his time there, he began to integrate the knowledge he acquired in audiovisual technology and eventually became the lead audio technician both in live worship as well as daily television broadcasting. Since then, he has worked with multiple churches serving as a worship leader, media coordinator, and production manager. For the past four years, prior to joining COH, he worked as the media coordinator for Lover’s Lane UMC. His role included managing the traditional service media team. Fernando occasionally worked with the contemporary worship team however his focus was primarily on classical recording technics for broadcast. His immediate goal, as he enters the role of Director of Media, is to build relations to set a sound foundation for collaboration. Fernando believes the only way to make a larger impact on the world is through interdependence. Meaning, that together we can create something greater than any of us could as individuals. He also understands the world has changed drastically in the last 3 years and now more than ever it is the church’s responsibility to provide a haven people can access from any part of the world.
