Commemorative Bricks

Commemorate a special person or event with an engraved brick in the Gwen Taylor Peace Plaza at the entrance to our church.

Commemorative Bricks

An engraved memorial brick can be an enduring part of the history of Cathedral of Hope. The bricks will fill the Plaza between the Interfaith Peace Chapel, the Bell Wall Memorial, and the main sanctuary.

The bricks can be personalized to commemorate moments of celebration, friends, family, memorials, expressions of thanksgiving, milestones in life, favorite sayings, or important quotations.

The commemorative bricks can be purchased for $180. The bricks are 4” x 8” and can have up to three lines of text (20 characters per line).

The Gwen Taylor Peace Plaza

The Gwen Taylor Peace Plaza unites the John Thomas Bell Wall and the Interfaith Peace Chapel at Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ.

As a part of the “master plan” for the entire campus, this plaza boasts 24,000 individual bricks that will contain markers of celebration and memorial, causing us to stop, pause, and prayerfully remember and give thanks.

In a world that often feels rushed, the Peace Plaza is a place to reflect as we enter and exit the beautiful sanctuary buildings, preparing our hearts for worship. It is also be a place for gathering, welcome and hospitality to all who sojourn in the efforts to create a more peace-filled world.

The Gwen Taylor estate generously donated to this place of peace and we honor her by naming it in her memory.
