SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 43.19
Behold, I will do something new,
Now it will spring forth.
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert.
WORDS OF HOPE
The first month of the New Year is close to half over and some of our diaries and journals
are already filling up. How about yours? How has your New Year been so far? Are you treating others well? How are you treating yourself?
"Be gentle with life this new day and use the Light of life to live fully in this time.”
-J. McQuiston)
Each new day consists of a series of events which can never be repeated in the exact same way. With each sentence you speak, you get just one chance to speak respectful love to the other person. Later, if you realize that the words were too sharp or inappropriate, your apology still leaves the interaction marked by less goodness. Therefore, we must handle each human interaction with "gentle care", because each is delicate, momentary and
unable to be fully repeated.
Each interaction represents an opportunity for the Light of God to shine into someone's life. For the Christian, this is a special responsibility, because by our words and actions God asks us to shine the divine wisdom and love into this world. "You are the light of the world. Let your light shine into others, so they may see your good words and actions and give glory to God in heaven." -Matthew 5:14,16
PRAYER
May the living presence of Christ Jesus fill every nook and cranny of my being to grow me to become a more efficient and faithful servant for you this day. My Lord, may your loving presence fill my life and spill forth to all those whom I meet this day. Lord Christ Jesus with your living presence in me, may we go forth together to be and to do those opportunities which you place in my life. And in all that I am and all that I do, may you be glorified, your presence be manifested to the world and others be blessed. Be it ever so. Amen.
