SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
WORDS OF HOPE
Sky Calling
If you can grab ahold of this, then you will soar far, so far above every burden, every obstacle, every trap, and everything that would fasten you from flying. Do not underestimate the power of your mindset, the nature of your thoughts, or your perspective on life–for you are the architect of an entire universe, a mind which has no limits…
How often do you consider everything that could go wrong, whether it be situationally or in life generally? The higher you rise, the greater the temptation is to look down. And when you realize just how far you could fall–that’s when it hits you–the feeling that’s most overwhelming…worry.
Yes, we begin to worry. Whereas before, considering what could go wrong could be seen as a tactical deterrent or a way to avoid trouble, now, it’s just a toxic involuntary obsession with failure…with falling out of the sky.
But the strength of your wings and the grace of the winds carried you, lifted you up, and the only reason you’re looking down is because now, you can see more than you did before. However, how would you suppose the ground looks to the eagle? Ponder this: that to the eagle, who dwells in high places, the ground looks very small.
So then, if we are to dwell in high places, then we must, so too, have the perspective of an eagle. The ground beneath us is small, and should we approach it, as it became nearer, it would no longer be thus. We should not see the potential for danger as a looming threat, but rather, a ground that holds very little significance for those whose aim is higher. If an eagle focuses on the ground for too long, it’s inevitable that it would collide with it. But as that same eagle focuses on the sky, it’s also inevitable that it will continue to rise.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, Surely it is by Your grace, and the wind of Your Spirit, that we are lifted high. Your Spirit whispers to me:
We are both
Beaten and blessed
By the same breeze
In this sky kingdom.
This tangible,
So tangible
Feeling of freedom
Calling.
I needed to see
That the ground
Was beneath my wings.
And what’s above is more.
There is peace here
Where your heart
Is out of reach
From the storms.
Let it be so. Amen.
