As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in God will never be put to shame.”
Shameless
“There is no such thing as shame,” is what I will tell my daughter. When the Garden of Eden was Created, God made no shame. Everyone was naked or in other words they took no thought of covering themselves. Adam and Eve created shame when they consented to the thought that something was wrong with them or to be more precise, they saw evil in themselves.
Evil has a face, and it is shame, but unless we agree to it there is no such thing as shame. Shame gave birth to fear, since when Adam and Eve saw themselves, they ran to fix what was natural. Fear gave birth to pain, for they could not bear it and covered themselves. Then comes discontent followed by bitterness. Envy, greed, and gluttony are all the names of things that followed shame; but if there is no shame where are her children? Without shame can there be condemnation?
Let the Lord judge. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1) We are not just flesh but have the will and emotions of God living in us and through us. Therefore, where God is, no shame can be found. One either agrees to shame or chooses to believe that it does not exist. God loves everyone, so do not shame the one God loves. To be in Christ is to be in God’s love and Jesus loves you, is in you, and One. How can anyone make you feel anything without your permission?
Lord God,
Hear me. I want to love myself as You love me. I do not want to measure my worth and by so doing teach others to do the same. Free everyone from this insanity. Who should feel ashamed if the only reason it existed was because one walked away from their divine self? To You Lord is where I will go when voices rise condemning me, for You alone can judge me. Praise You for Your glorious love, for You will not put me to shame. Amen.
