SCRIPTURE
1 Corinthians 14:33
“For God is not the author of confusion but of peace…”
WORDS OF HOPE
Some time ago, after knowing in my gut I was being called to serve, I got caught in the abyss of “what should I do next” As I began to question myself it left me doubting which way I should go. I had exhausted known avenues of researching the situation, talked to lots of people for advice until it felt like the answers were floating further and further away.
As I ask others for their opinion, naturally, everyone had advice which made me doubt if I was actually headed in the right direction at all.
Just when resolution was at hand, doubt would come flying in, I would question my decision, get confused again, then start re-thinking the process all over. Even though I had been asking God for help, I finally quieted my mind, went to God in prayer and this time without my own agenda.
I consider myself a fairly ambitious person and sometimes when I feel moved by God, it lights a fire in me so hot I’m ready to throw caution to the wind to conquer the world. Maybe the same happens for you, so many thoughts and ideas run through your mind that you can’t write it all down fast enough. Have you ever gotten so excited about a dream or vision that you take off running full speed only to find yourself running ahead of God?
The media today seems purposely filled with confusion, lies and doubt. Right is being called wrong; many want to influence others according to their agenda making lines of communication blurred across the board. While so much of it is designed for control and to keep folks confused, in truth, God never intended for us to live that way. Learning to stand firm on the truth, know who we are in Christ, listen for the call God has on our lives and stop living in fear is the real action that will change our lives forever!
PRAYER
God as we bear witness to confusion, let us evoke your everlasting promise of peace and Mercy that will be freely given when we remember to ask. In Jesus name, Amen
