And Jesus said: “. . . and upon this rock I will build my community;
and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” Matthew 16:18
Welcome!
No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here.
We are people of many races, ethnic backgrounds, ages, sexual orientations and gender identities. Together we are stronger than we would be apart.
Our mission is to proclaim Christ through faith, hope and love.
We have a variety of services both in-person and online, each one with its own character and format. With services each Sunday at 8:30am, 10am, 11:45am (contemporary worship) and 1:30pm (worship in Spanish), there is a service for you!
Cathedral of Hope (CoH) was founded in 1970 as Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) Dallas by a group of 12 friends meeting in homes. Since that time, our church, now known as Cathedral of Hope, became a congregation of the United Church of Christ, a mainline Protestant denomination and has grown into the world’s largest progressive church with a primary outreach to the LGBTQ community.
We encourage you to explore our website where we will share stories of our ministries and the folks that are on this journey of faith with us! We invite you to join us for worship in-person or online where we proclaim Jesus Christ through faith, hope and love. God is Still Speaking . . .
We offer four worship services on Sundays. Our 8:30am and 10:00am traditional services feature our amazing Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra and an inspirational message from our Senior Minister. All are invited to participate in Communion, which happens during every 8:30am and 10am service.
At 11:45am we have our contemporary worship service filled with music and praise! This causal service is a great option for families who want to worship together and for those seeking a deeper connections with their faith community and with God.
A la 1:30pm, nuestra congregación de habla española, Catedral de la Esperanza.
We believe in God’s unconditional love and in the inherent goodness of all creation. We believe in the liberating grace of Jesus Christ and empowering presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe we are called into community:
We are a church that is active. In our community, in our city and in the lives of our members and visitors. We reflect the vibrance of God's love in our words and acts.
We believe in God’s unconditional love and in the inherent goodness of all creation. We embrace the diversity of our community and celebrate the lives of all people.
We believe that God is still speaking, not only through Scripture, but through the new words of people carrying the good news of God's grace and abundant love.
Youth is a unique period of life, one filled with exploration, discovery, excitement and fulfillment. The Church Youth Ministry provides a nurturing, loving environment for young people exploring the world. It is a safe place where our faith guides learning, exploration and self-discovery.
The Gospel has a message for everyone, of every age. Sharing and exploring faith when they are young gives children and youth guidance, hope and strength that lasts a lifetime. To learn more about the Children's Ministry at Cathedral of Hope, please contact us below!
Serving and helping the community is a core part of who we are. Our programs BACH, iCARE, Taste of Hope, Hope GYFTS food rescue, and others, help thousands of folks experiencing food insecurity.
Our worship services depend upon the talent of hundreds of volunteers each week. Greeters, Ushers, Members of the Music Ministry, Hope Media Team, LMOWs and many others all have their part to play during worship services.
