“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28. 20b
A Word of Hope
Can you hear the voice of God telling you to listen? She is beckoning you. Come, gather and listen.
Hasn’t it been a long journey? For everyone it has. Breathe in and exhale. You can’t die now. Don’t give up and don’t faint. God knows that you suffer, and it’s because you chose love. Whether romantic, forbidden, or brief love has a cost. At some point we either bury the ones we love or are buried by the ones we love.
God grieves for her child whose voice is unheard because no one stops to listen.
“I am hurting,” you say.
The Spirit whispers, “Don’t die, I won’t let you die. Because you have been fighting; fighting for this long. You have a dream, and the only one who can stop it is you. For I am for you. I have chosen you. You are my child.
“I will give you strength.”
“I will give you the courage to not give up on your dream. Remember that courage is not the absence of fear, but the heart that has the faith to take a step anyway. If you can take a step, then you have more strength than you know.”
The hardest part was the longing: wanting to receive the love that I was giving to everyone else. I too have mourned a loved one. All this is vanity because love is worth fighting for, even dying for. Consider the lengths to which Christ went, all for the sake of love. Do we count Him having erred? -Of course not. We endure as Christ did, for the sake of love.
Don’t give up. The day in which the Lord comes for her children is fast approaching.
Prince of Peace give us your strength. Take the burdens we aren’t meant to bear. Come for your children who long to be with You where You are. Let us find You here and bring heaven to us. Bless our eyes to see the Christ Child in each of us, and bring healing to the world. Thank You Lord, Amen.
