Wow! What an exciting Sunday we experienced together last week. Not only did we welcome back the full choir and orchestra to our Traditional worship services, but our other services were also energized by great music, worship, and the sounds of friends greeting one another; some who had not seen each other, in person, since the pandemic began.
Our current sermon series, “Unstoppable” explores the unstoppable faith of those in our sacred texts and those who have brought testimony of how their faith was unstoppable as well. We continue that series this week as we look at the story of Esther from the Old Testament and hear from Susie Hess, a member of our own congregation.
July is also our “Month of Service” and many of you have signed up to carry out an extra act of service to the benefit of others. Whether you have, or are doing this as a small group, or joining one of the many opportunities in the month, please know that your act is appreciated. It’s not too late to sign up and you can do so by following this link.
Our annual school supply drive, benefiting the students of our partner schools is also receiving supplies this Sunday and they can be dropped off on the way into church. There will be volunteers waiting under the bell wall before each service. For a list of supplies needed, please follow this link.
On the last Sunday of July, we will celebrate our 51st anniversary. This is yet another milestone in our history and, while we are still able to celebrate in the way we might want to, we will celebrate at all of our worship services on Sunday, July 25. We will also be receiving an Anniversary Miracle Offering on Sunday, August 1. This special offering will help in so many ways and further our mission and further our vision – to be a growing community of faith that connects the unconnected and empowers disciples of Jesus to be God’s love in this world.
Cathedral of Hope, “Proclaiming Christ through Faith, Hope and Love” – join me again this Sunday at 8:30am and 10am Traditional Services, 11am Online Only, 11:45am Contemporary Service, and 1:30pm Adoracion en Espanol.
I’m glad you are here!
